Won't do any good WM. It's not our hosts fault, it's an issue with Valve and the software. We can start a new server but we're still going to be affected. The problem, is Valve will take their time fixing the problem, if they ever do at all. Unfortunately for us, Valve doesn't care about 1.6, it's their deformed gimp child they keep hidden in the basement. They, just like any other software company, maintain their latest products (the newest games which are bringing in the most revenue) as a number one priority. The products that put them in the market to begin with (in this case, CS 1.6) are shunned - they keep driving us 100 miles away to a field and abandon us only for us to return to their doorstep a few days later, so to speak. All we can do is wait it out and hope Valve comes through. These kind of bugs scare me these days; if something like this is ever bad enough I suspect Valve will just say "Okay it's been a good run but let's put our resources elsewhere and move on", shutting down their servers and thus ending the game. Or they just won't bother to fix the problem, the problem will piss off users so much that they won't play, and the game will ultimately die. Let's face it, the game is bound to die one day, everything dies. We could run our own servers without the support of Valve (I've run one from my own box before), but it would take a lot of work and $$$. Speaking of "the support of Valve" does VAC even work for 1.6 anymore? I haven't seen it ban a user in 5 years, it's been out for 6; everything I've read online says it's still active but doesn't ban new hacks instantly, but waits a few days for the hack to be spread out among other users so it can catch more people. Ok yes, that's an excellent strategy but what about old hacks, why do I not see VAC banning people anymore? Valve doesn't care about this ancient game. As long as there is still a mass of people playing the game, and the game is still on the market so Valve can make money, I think we'll be good. Edited by Rubix, Mar 10 2010, 01:42 PM.

Lol yea I know sorry, in a depressing time in my life right now so it sometimes influences my interactions; I try not to let it but it happens anyway. Keep your head up yall, while I said that stuff above, I don't think Valve is ready to let CS go just yet
